We enable petroleum companies to maximize revenue and reduce costs with software solutions and project-based services for improved reservoir characterization and recovery. We are a privately-held global company with headquarters in Calgary and an office in Beijing.

Geomodeling is seeking to hire sales and accounts admin in Calgary. The position is available immediately. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the CEO.  Please submit your resume to [email protected].

Roles and responsibilities:

Accounting:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivables, payroll, expenses and invoicing through Quickbooks online
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
  • Liaising with external accountant and auditor to prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations (e.g., GST)

Sales support:

  • Respond to and redirect email enquiries
  • Manage online Zoho CRM system

Administrative:

  • Answering incoming calls; taking messages and re-directing calls as required
  • Track vacations and time-off across company
  • Provide scheduling support for meetings and events

 Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting and book-keeping experience
  • Proficient with accounting software, such as QuickBooks online
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

 Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business
  • Experience with technology start-ups especially SaaS
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks online and Zoho CRM
  • Working proficiency in Chinese Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian, but not mandatory
