AttributeStudio Unconventional from Geomodeling is a comprehensive suite of advanced tools for reservoir characterization of unconventional, fractured shale and carbonate plays. AttributeStudio Unconventional enables you to correlate seismic, microseismic, well log, and engineering data from hydraulic fractures into an integrated  interpretation of fractured formations.

MICROSEISMIC DATA INTERPRETATION

Using AttributeStudio Unconventional, you can import, visualize, and analyze microseismic data.  AttributeStudio supports a complete workflow for microseismic correlation and interpretation including converting microseismic data from depth to time, sampling seismic attribute data at microseismic locations, and cross-plotting seismic attribute and well log data with microseismic data.

ENGINEERING DATA ANALYSIS

Pressure, slurry flow rate, proppant concentration and other engineering data values can be easily loaded and displayed in chart form.   The Engineering Data Movie Player displays engineering data on a scrolling display and synchronizes 3D views of microseismic events with engineering data.  Filtering enables you to restrict displays to specific values of interest.

STIMULATED ROCK VOLUME

Calculation of Stimulated Rock Volumes is quick and easy in AttributeStudio Unconventional.  AttributeStudio constructs a convex hull surrounding a set of microseismic data points and then builds a set of geobodies within the convex hull. The geobodies provide a direct estimate of stimulated rock volume, and are useful for correlation, interpretation and analysis of fractured rock volumes.  Microseismic data filtering allows you to produce stimulated rock volumes from subsets of frac data containing values within specified limits.

SEISMIC CONDITIONED HYDRAULIC FRACTURE MODELING

Seismic-conditioned frac modeling enables users to  create bi-wing hydraulic fracture models from either horizons or strata-grids that are conditioned to seismic data.  Fracture models can be conditioned to any seismic attribute, allowing correlation between microseismic events, hydraulic fractures, and rock properties. These models are useful in shales, and other tight formation areas for estimating hydraulic fracture propagation and designing fracture programs.

AVAZ AND VVAZ VECTOR VISUALIZATION

AttributeStudio’s Vector Visualization for directional attributes highlights fracture patterns otherwise hidden in conventional seismic image displays. Anisotropic gradients and velocity differences captured by directional seismic attributes such as AVAZ and VVAZ can be correlated to fracture density and orientation in unconventional reservoirs. Combined with AttributeStudio Unconventional and Volume Curvature, Vector Visualization in AttributeStudio provides a leading-edge workflow for analysis of fractured and other unconventional reservoirs.

ADVANCED WELL LOG UPSCALING

AttributeStudio’s Advanced Well Log Upscaling feature rescales well logs to seismic scale using strata-grids.  Several arithmetic methods are available to control upscaling of logs.  Upscaled well logs can be directly correlated with seismic data, including powerful Neural-Network techniques for reservoir property prediction.
