Data Analytics – Linking Production Data with Seismic Attributes, Drilling and Completion Parameters

Geomodeling Technology Corp. is pleased to announce the release of AttributeStudio™ 7.6, which boasts a streamlined Data Analytics workflow that allow users to easily identify high-impact seismic attributes, drilling or completion parameters that affect production in horizontal wells. This workflow is especially tailored for shale plays, where drilling horizontal well is a norm. “The improved data analytics workflow in this new release allow our users to quickly identify the key factors affecting production in horizontal wells. The prediction capabilities in this workflow help our clients map ‘sweet spots’, and optimize drilling and completion for the next horizontal well”, says Dr. Renjun Wen, Founder and CEO of Geomodeling Technology Corp.

Geomodeling is committed to providing our users with tools that keep them at the forefront of quantitative seismic interpretation, for both conventional and unconventional plays. Another major improvements in AttributeStudio 7.6 is in the cross-plot window. A rotation function has been added to the rectangular polygon.

By supporting drilling, completion, and any user defined parameters in the data analytics workflow, in addition to the near-wellbore seismic attributes, our users will now be able to verify if the variability of production rates observed in horizontal wells that are reflected on seismic attributes; and identify key parameters in drilling and completion that affects production.  Our clients can now use the non-linear prediction to map “sweet spots” and to improve the success rate in both conventional and conventional plays. Furthermore, seismic interpreters now have a new toolbox to work with drilling and completion engineers in shale plays.
